# OMIS: Order Management Information System > Hosted order management software for land surveying and construction surveying firms. > OMIS organizes work by builder, subdivision, and lot rather than by ticket number, and > tracks each order from the builder's first call through crew assignment, field status > updates, invoicing, and payment. Built in 2006 and in daily production ever since. > Operated by The Plug Group of Charlotte, North Carolina. ## What OMIS is OMIS is a subscription product, not a custom build. Every customer runs the same version of the platform. Each customer's data is held in a separate database. The software is hosted, maintained, and supported by The Plug Group; customers access it through a web browser. It is designed for firms that perform repeat survey work for homebuilders and developers: foundation stakeouts, form boards, final surveys, as-builts, and similar services across residential subdivisions. ## What OMIS tracks - Builders: contacts, billing details, and active subdivisions - Subdivisions: plat reference, phase, jurisdiction, and services provided - Lots: lot and block, address, and every order ever placed against the lot - Orders: service requested, dates, crew assigned, status, notes, amount, invoice number - Order history: every status change on every order, with who changed it and when - Field crews: assignments, open work, and what is waiting - Invoicing: invoice numbers carried on the order record - Payments: receipts applied to orders and invoices, with method, reference, and balance ## What OMIS is not - Not an accounting system. It records invoices and payments but does not replace a general ledger. - Not customized per firm. Feature requests are built into the shared platform or not at all. - Not sold with an uptime percentage or availability credits in the base subscription. - Not sold with a committed recovery time in the base subscription; a recovery objective add-on is available as a separately priced option. ## Commercial terms Subscriptions are priced on an Order Form covering user subscriptions, company databases, and storage allowance. Terms renew automatically; declining renewal at the end of a term is free with sixty to one hundred twenty days' notice. Ending a term early triggers an early termination fee. Optional work is quoted in writing and approved before it is billed. Customers own their data. On termination, a customer may request a complete export of their records as flat CSV or XML files at no charge within a stated work allowance. ## Pages - [OMIS product overview](index.html): what OMIS tracks, how an order moves through it, and common questions - [All agreements](legal/agreements.html): index of every published version of every legal document - [Master Subscription Agreement v30](legal/omis-msa-v30.html): the full subscription terms - [Schedule Y, Data Export v11](legal/omis-schedule-y-v11.html): what is exported on termination, in what format, and when - [Schedule Z, Service Levels and Fees v11](legal/omis-schedule-z-v11.html): support hours, backups, storage, and billable services - [Data Processing Addendum v5](legal/omis-dpa-v5.html): applies where data protection law requires it - [Website Privacy Notice v1](legal/omis-privacy-v1.html): how information from the website and the demo form is handled ## Contact The Plug Group, Charlotte, North Carolina.
